Admire colonial heritage, explore fine museums and galleries, and enjoy delicious food and wine in this elegant regional city. A picturesque spot in the New England High Country, Armidale is home to the University of New England and is where the AACS 2019 meeting is happening.

Armidale is halfway between Sydney and Brisbane, although locals will tell you that should read Guyra and Uralla. You can travel by road, rail or air to Armidale. The airport is 8 km from Armidale’s city centre and a taxi services is available at the terminal to make the short trip to the city. QantasLink and Regional Express operate daily direct flights to and from Sydney, from where the train also calls in once a day.

There are plenty of places to stay, including B&Bs, guesthouses, farm stays, motels and apartments. You can even stay among vineyards in a winery. See some accommodation examples. The campus lies outwith the main part of the city with good road, bus ($2 each way), cycle (15 minutess) and footpath (60 minutes) access.
