AACS awards acknowledge the substantial enthusiasm and successful pursuit of cotton science in recent times by an association member or published paper that encompasses the values of the Association (innovation, collaboration and impact). There are three award categories:
- Service to cotton
- Early career scientist encouragement
- Scientific publication

The AACS awards recipients are determined by the AACS committee and are announced at the Australian Cotton Research Conference. Nominations close Friday 4 August 2023.

Life member nominations
AACS life memberships are awarded in recognition of a member’s contribution to the scientific community and scientific knowledge of cotton in Australia and are announced at the Australian Cotton Research Conference. Life membership can be awarded during a career, after retirement, or posthumously.
To nominate someone you think has been an outstanding contributor to science in Australian cotton, please upload their photo as well as submitting the nomination details in the form below.
Life members are acknowledged on the AACS website and announced at Cotton Research Conferences. To have your nomination considered in time for this year’s conference, please submit by Friday 4 August 2023.

Shirt orders:
Cobalt blue Pilbara shirts embroidered with the AACS logo can now be ordered in time for the Cotton Research Conference. Made of light weight premium 100% cotton, they are mercerized and double pre-shrunk.
Not only are they likely to be the ‘in vogue’ fashion for the conference, but they’re also great for around the office and out in the paddock.
Available in men’s (XS-6XL) and women’s (6-18) styles.

Student Scholarship info:
AACS is offering four (4) scholarships for university students studying cotton-related honours or post graduate degrees to attend the 5th bi-annual Australian Cotton Research Conference.
The scholarships include:
- Student registration for the full conference (5–7 Sept. 2023) including lunches, morning and afternoon teas and social events (welcome drinks and the conference dinner).
- Reimbursement of up to $1000 for reasonable travel and accommodation costs to attend the conference (a budget is requested in the application and receipts will be required as proof of expenditure).
To be eligible you must be:
- Currently enrolled in honours or post graduate study at an Australian University.
- Eligible to live, work, and study in Australia.
- Currently studying agriculture, agricultural science or applied science in a field relevant to cotton.
- Able to attend the full conference (5–7 Sept. 2023).
